David Burrowes visits Cockfosters to show why it must remain in Enfield Southgate

Yesterday David Burrowes MP made a visit to the area he grew up in - Cockfosters.
In the Boundary Commission for England's proposals, Cockfosters would be splintered off to join Chipping Barnet but would still be part of the London Borough of Enfield. Yes, parts of Cockfosters are close to Barnet. But Cockfosters' links and roots are in Enfield.
It's Enfield Council that administers Trent Park and local business rates. It's Enfield Council that collects the area's bins. It's Enfield Council that planners are concerned about when they put in applications, such as the development at Cat Hill. In short, it's Enfield Council that has an interest in Cockfosters - not Barnet.
And that's why Cockfosters needs a Member of Parliament that works for them and has a majority interest not in Barnet, but in Enfield. That's why Cockfosters will be better off staying in Enfield Southgate.
